The tour begins in Tbilisi, we begin the journey from the church named after St. Estate, Ertatsminda, where the severed head of Paata, son of Georgy Saakadze, died a martyrdom, is buried. This is a cross-domed temple of the XIII century. The very name "Ertatsminda" is associated with the name of Saint Estate (Eustathia) and is a modified form of "Estate Tsminda".

We will continue our journey to the Ikvi temple, which is a monument of Georgian architecture of the 11th century and consecrated in honor of St. George.

The Rkoni monastery complex is located in the Shida Kartli region, in the Kaspi municipality, near the village of Chachubeti, on the territory of the former settlement of Rkoni. On the territory of the monastery complex, on the Tedzami River, "Tamara Bridge" was built. It dates back to the XII-XIII centuries. The semicircular bridge is a single structure, which is 12.5 m long and 2.2 m wide. The pillars of the bridge are supported by a natural stone foundation. The bridge was built of wild stone on a lime mortar, it has been preserved in its original form. There was a road connecting Shida Kartli with Trialeti.

We will end the tour with the Kvatakhevi Monastery. This is a monument of the XII-XIII centuries, it was considered the main monastery of Kartli and was under the patronage of the nobility. During the invasion of Tamerlane in 1386, the monastery was plundered, and when the monks and villagers who took refuge in the temple refused to renounce Christianity, they were all locked up here and the church was set on fire. In the 15th century, Tsar Alexander the Great restored the Kvatakhevi monastery. In 1735-1740 the monastery was closed, and the shrines kept here were hidden in a cave not far from the monastery. At the end of the 18th century, the church became operational again, and the hidden treasures were returned to the monastery. According to legend, a small part of the clothes of the Virgin Mary was laid in the foundation of the church (The church itself was also consecrated in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary). Also, the greatest shrine of the monastery is the relics of John the Baptist. In addition, Kvatakhevi was also one of the ancient Georgian literary centers; several manuscripts of the monastery library have survived to this day.
