Buzmareti Church
About Buzmareti Church
The Buzmareti Church is located in the Samtskhe-Javakheti region, the Adigeni municipality, at 7-8 km from the village of Ude. Only ruins have survived from the original church, but today it has been completely restored, and there is a fathers' monastery here. The church was originally built in the 4th-5th centuries. The building is of a hall type and on the east side has a semicircular apse inscribed in a rectangle. The interior is painted. The facades are decorated with unpretentious cornices. Otherwise, there are no decorative elements in the temple. The building has an architrave entrance on the south side. The Buzmareti Church is built in a very beautiful, tree-covered place. The temple is located near the border of Turkey and in order to visit it, you will need a special pass.
