Demoti Fortress

Demoti Fortress - The historical fortress which is located in Samtskhe, in Borjomi municipality, in the Kvabiskhevi valley, on the foot of the Persati mountain, built on a steep cliff. In historical sources, Demoti Fortress is one of the ancient fortresses on the territory of Georgia. It is mentioned in some of the historical events.

Vakhushti Batonishvili refers to its’ localization and describes:

“In the western valley(Kvabiskhevi), on the edge of the Mtkvari River, there is a fortress named Demotistsikhe, which was built by Sumbat Bivritiani”
