Dankali — Nasoflar in historical Upper Javakheti. It was located on the Javakheti plateau, between Kumurdo and Gogashen, on the banks of the Mtkvari Canyon.
The settlement arose in prehistoric times, as evidenced by a fortified hillfort and fragments of ceramic products from the Late Bronze Age - Early Iron Age. A hall church of the 10th–11th centuries stands on the territory of Nasoflar. It is built of smooth stones and limestone. It had entrances from the north and west, and a nave from the south, which can be accessed from the main nave. The roof is pitched. There is a cemetery around the church. Fragments of stelae from the early feudal period were found in the church, as well as the cubic base of the stele, on which an equilateral cross enclosed in a circle is carved. One stele contained a human figure, an equilateral cross, and a flower in relief, dating from the turn of the 5th–6th centuries. According to the “Great Book of the Gurjistan Province” (end of the 16th century), the village of Dankali, located in the Liv Akshehir district of Akhalkalaki, was depopulated. In 1972, three households still remained there.
