Duruji Boulder is located in Kakheti, Kvareli Municipality, near the town of Kvareli, on the bank of the river Duruji, 430 meters above sea level. During one of the floods, in 1899, Duruj brought the boulder to Kvareli from the headwaters, about 6-8 km away. This river is characterized by strong mudflows, during which it brings a large amount of solid material that has turned to mud from the mountains. This huge boulder weighs about 224 tons.
