Lake Okro

Lake Okro (in translation Golden Lake) is located in Samegrelo, nearby the city- Poti, across the river Maltakva. The lake itself represents the rowing sports ditch.

The length of the lake, approximately, is 1000-1200 meters, width, maybe 120-150 meters. The depth in the middle is 4-6 meters, the lake bed is equal, mostly- sandy. In the lake are settled down carp, cupid, crucian, Caspian Shemaya, mullet, and sturgeon.

The lake was created artificially, according to the Olympic standards. Here, there are held exercises, as well as competitions in water-skiing sports.

In 1991, there was the event of the championship in rowing sports.

The lake is divided into two separate pieces, with a special net. In the first part of the lake, they are releasing fish and it is absolutely filtered from perch. As for another part of the lake, there inhabits perch.
