Church of the Virgin Mary of Avranlo

The Church of the Virgin Mary of Avranlo is located in Kvemo Kartli, near the village of Avranlo, Tsalka Municipality.

The Church of the Mother of God is located 1 km northwest of the village, on the left bank of the Ktsia River, on the lower, first terrace of the Cyclopean fortress. The lower terrace of the Cyclopean fortress was used as the church wall. The church was built in 1920 by local Greeks on the ruins of an old Georgian church. It is a hall-like structure and is built of dressed stone squares. In plan, the church is rectangular, with a semicircular apse in the east. Arched windows are cut in the southern and eastern walls. The entrance to the church is from the south, it is arched. A cross is depicted above the arch. The church is roofed with tin. A tin bell tower is erected at the entrance.
