Akhshni Gorisjvari Church — The complex is located in Kakheti , southeast of the village of Akhshni , Akhmeta Municipality. At 700 m, on one of the branches of the mountain. The complex includes a church, a chapel, several ruined buildings, and a fence.
The church is a three-nave basilica (13.5X10.5 m). It dates back to the second half of the 9th century. As a result of later renovations, its original appearance has been significantly changed. As a result of renovations in the 15th-16th centuries, both the interior of the basilica and the annex, which was added later, have been significantly changed. Traces of painting have been preserved in the church.
The chapel (6.8X4.3 m) stands at the northeast corner of the church. It dates back to the 15th-16th centuries. Later, a bell tower was built on the western part of the chapel. The badly damaged bell tower/chapel was restored several years ago.
The wall is almost rectangular in plan, preserved in fragments, with remains of buildings in the southwestern corner of the wall and along the southern wall.
