Jvara St. Mary Church

Jvara (formerly Dumanisi) St. Mary Church was built in XIV-XVIII centuries. The exact date of its construction is unknown, art historians consider it as a church of the XIV-XVIII centuries due to its architectural style. Jvara Church is located in the center of the village, in Chivchavi community, Tetritskaro municipality, Kvemo Kartli. On the territory of the church there is a stone stela (stone cross) and several tombstones, including the "warrior tomb" horse that has its head cut off at the moment. Also there is an image of dead warrior on the tombstone. The church is quite damaged and needs urgent restoration, cleaning and renovation of the surrounding ground.
