About Likani
Likani Resort is located in the Samtskhe-Javakheti region, at the west end of the town of Borjomi. The main method of treatment of the resort is mineral water, which is used for drinking as well as for balneological healing procedures. Likani mineral water has a special combination of hydrocarbons, magnesium, and calcium and it is characterized by the abundance of the natural Carbon dioxide. This makes the water pleasantly soft, which is rising from a depth of 1,500 meters. In Likani, there is a beautiful park on the edge of the Mtkvari, where centennial oaks are growing. In the center of the park, there is one of the sights of Borjomi, the Romanov Palace. The Palace was built by the architect Leon Benois between 1892-95 under the auspices of the Grand Duke Nikolai Mikhailovich Romanov for his brother, Russian emperor Alexander II. A decorative square is arranged around the palace. You can also visit the ruins of the VII-IX сentury Church of the Mother of God in Likani. Here was an active monastic life and it is an interesting cultural monument. This resort is a wonderful place for comfortable and refreshing relaxation in the forest and also for walking on paths saturated with the smell of the ground and trees. There is a subtropical climate in Likani, with mild, snowy winter and with very warm summer. The average temperature in January is -2,0 ° C and in August it is 20-25 ° C.
