Marani Sevsamora was founded in 2015. Shortly after wine cellar begins to offer touristic, educational and research activities.
The main goals of
Sevsamora Marani are:
Sevsamora Marani owns 7 hectares of vineyards. 4 hectares of vineyards are cultivated according to bio-organic standards and in July 2019 have successfully passed CAUCASCERT certification. The practice of working in bio-vineyards is based on organic farming, which implies the use of only organic bio preparations and fertilizers. Each hectare is cultivated manually according to the strict rules of organic farming.
By date in our vineyards, we planted the following grape varieties: Saperavi, Kisi, Khikhvi, Chinuri, Mtsvane, Tavkveri, Shavkapito and some rarities such as: Buza, Simonaseuli, Cabernet Franc, Danakharuli, Asuretuli Shavi.
The facilities of Marani Sevsamora is located in 300 m2 area and consists of Marani (Traditional unique Georgian cellar – in which clay vessels (Qvevri) are burried under the ground level) with many Qvevris (clay vessels to undergo the fermentation process and store the wine) and modern high-performance equipment manufactured by famous wine machinery producer Bucher Vaslin. At each stage of wine-producing raw materials and wine itself passes plenty of laboratory tests to ensure the highest quality of end-product.
In 2019 were bottled up to 20.000 bottles of 7 grape varieties, produced by a traditional Georgian method in Qvevri. In 2020, due to the high demand for Qvevri-wines, its amount will be increased up to 45,000 bottles, 25 % out of which will be produced using bio-organic technology.
Just a few steps from the main facilities of Marani Sevsamora, there is a recreational area and demo vineyard with a collection of 50 rare vine species, where our guests are kindly welcomed to wine tasting and other related activities.
