The Poti Lighthouse is located in the city of Poti in Samegrelo. It is located at the confluence of the Rioni and Black Seas. The lighthouse was commissioned in England in 1860 as a lighthouse. It is made of cast iron and weighs 126 tons. It was lit for the first time in 1864 and has never been extinguished since. It is interesting that it is the first metal lighthouse in Georgia; before that, lighthouses were made of stone or wood. The lighthouse has undergone many changes during its existence. Its height from the base to the roof is 39.8 meters. The lighthouse has a spiral staircase with 160 steps. The distance of the Poti lighthouse's light is 16 nautical miles, or 30 kilometers.
