About Round hiking trail in Tana gorge

Best time to visit: All Season

The trail starts from the Ateni Sioni church and goes along the river Damchkeri gorge. Deep in the gorge, before you reach the pond, the trail turns to the right to the west and continues in the gorge and ascends the right slope of the mountain and reaches the ridge. The path follows the ridge to the south-east and continues on the left slope of the mountain. From the deep in the gorge trail descends where you will come across the ruins of the church and the pond.

საშუალო სირთულის ბილიკია, რბილი აღმართი და შემდგომ საკმაოდ დამრეცი დაღმართი ეკლესიამდე,მაგრამ არც ეკლესიის შემდგომ არის ადვილად ჩასავლელი. ადგილებში ბილიკი ქრება და ხევის წყალში გიწევთ სიარული (20მ.) მარკირების ნდობაც არ შეიძლება რადგაც აღნიშნული ბილიკი დამარკირებულია არას[ეციალისტის მიერ. მრავალი გადასახვევი მოუნიშნავია( არამარკირებული) რაც გზის აცდენის აალბათობას ზრდის. ისე ბილიკი ორივე მხრიდან ფასდება. საერთო ჯამში კი ძალიან სასიამოვნოა.

ძალიან ლამაზი ადგილებია და საკმაოდ რთული ბილიკი (ძლიერი აღმართები და დაღმართებია), მარკირება ნამდვილად ცუდადაა გაკეთებული, სადაც საჭიროა იქ არ არის მარკირებული და შეიძლება გზას აცდეთ, მე რამდენჯერმე ავცდი და უკან მომიწია სიარული. მთლიანობაში ძალიან ლამაზი ბილიკია, გირჩევთ აქ რაც არის, viewranger-ის ტრექი გადმოწეროთ და ისე წახვიდეთ.

We did this in September 2022. The way up was well marked but in some places not at all easy to hike; steep & lose gravel. The way down through the forrest was very steep, in some place not marked and in bad shape. Only for adventurous hikers well equiped with good GPS.
