St. George's Church of Merevi

St. George's Church of Merevi is located in Zemo Imereti, in the territory of the village of Merevi, Chiatura Municipality.

The hall-type church of St. George of Merevi (Alaverdi St. George Church), the temple was built in the 11th century. The temple has distinctive window carvings, as well as a decorated part of the gate, a hunting scene of Eustathius Placidus. The temple was restored and expanded in the later period, with a glass extension on the western side.
