Youth club „Betqili“

The youth club of a name of mikheil Khergiani is located in Mestia, Zemo-Svaneti region. The youth club was Boris Kakhini's great idea and the goal was to grew up the young generation of the examples of famous national heros.

The above mentioned project was implemented in 1977-79 with the help of Boris Kakhiani and his friends. In the process of project implementation took part representatives of all generation from Svaneti region. In the 1980-s a lot of meetings with famous Georgian patriots togather with the best representatives of the soviet Georgian's art and culture were held. The fire, which took place in the 80-s put the end to all the activities of the club.

In 2007, the above mentioned building was repaired by CTC and handed to the culture department of the municipality of mestia, in order to conduct youth and cultural activities there. Due to some technical reasons, the club stopped it's existence.

On 28th of January of 2016, Non-governmental organization "Youth for Mountains" was established. The main goal of estblishing this organization was to create appropriate developing conditions for the youth. The youth organization asked the municipality of Mestia to give the club "Betqili" building to them for there activities, as the club itself was established for the same reason.

The Non-governmental organization submitted the recovery project of "Betqili Club" to the "Children and Youth Development Fund" of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs, as a result they gained the grant.

Since 20th of May, 2016 Non-governmental organization "Youth for the Mountain" started it's activity and it is the organization which turn the youth ideas to the reality.
