Chiatura Pioneer Palace

The Chiatura Pioneer Palace is located in Upper Imereti, on the territory of the city of Chiatura.

The Chiatura Pioneer Palace was built in the early 1960s. According to the standard project of architect Chkheidze. There were 3 such buildings in total on the territory of Georgia. One in Chiatura, the second in Tkibuli and the third in Tkvarcheli. Scientific and artistic circles were held in the building. Numerous events were held and a museum was also arranged. The building functioned until 2007, after which it was completely abandoned. Over time, it was looted and damaged after the impact of natural events and became dilapidated. In 2014, the dismantling of the building began, which was stopped by civil activists. Today, a small part of the building has been preserved, namely the colonnade and the vestibule on the first floor.
