The Kubat fortress-tower is located in the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region, southeast of Stepantsminda, on a mountain. The ridged tower is built of slate stones of various sizes. The structure is dry. Four floors of the tower have survived. The steep area in front of the tower to the west is enclosed by slate walls, which are attached to the northern and southern walls of the tower. The area of the enclosed territory is 35X20 m. The walls of the fence are 70-75 cm wide. The walls have survived at different heights. In some places they have completely collapsed. There are gun emplacements at different heights in the fence walls. In the extreme western part of the complex, inside the fence wall, there are the remains of a small building of a rectangular plan.
