Khanchali Managed Reserve

Khanchali Managed Reserve - Located in the territory of Javakheti National Park. It covers a certain part of the territory of Ninotsminda Municipality. Its total area is 839 hectares. It was founded in 2011.

There are many lakes on the Javakheti Plateau, including the largest lake in Georgia, Paravani Lake. The highest point of Javakheti is Mount Didi Abuli, which is located 3,300 meters above sea level. The Javakheti plateau is the coldest place among the settlements of Georgia. It is characterized by a dry continental climate, and the average annual temperature is quite low. In winter, the lakes of Javakheti freeze for a long time.
