About Along the ridge: trail from Khevsureti to Tusheti

The route starts from the Datvijvari pass, followed the ridge which separates Ukanapshavi from Migmakhevi. The trail then crosses the barbalo pass and descends to Tsovatusheti and ends in village Koklata located in Gometsari gorge. The entire trail offers special panoramic views on the Caucasus and Pshavi. The route leads to Alazani source and passes through the valley of Shaktskala.

Day 1: From Datijvari – Campsite Borbalo
The route starts from the Datvijvari pass and follows the ridge which separates Ukanapshavi from Migmakhevi. Hike is not difficult, though some sections require travelers to be cautious and highly concentrated. You will not see water from the passage to the campsite Borbalo therefore you have to carry enough water. The water is found in the campsite Borbalo.

Day 2: Campsite Borbalo - Borbalo pass - Tsovatusheti
The second day is relatively easy, from the campsite you are ascending and getting to the Borbalo Pass. From the pass trail ascend and the remaining part of the road is mostly descending. At the end of the day you will reach campsite Shavtskala. You will come across the waters source only while descend to the Shavtskala gorge, so you have to carry enough water.

Day 4: Campsite Shavtskala - Village Koklata
The trail from campsite to village koklata is easier than the previous days and does not require too much load from the traveler. On the way you come across the drinking water several times.

Day 4: Koklata - back to Civilization
From the village Koklata you can get back to civilization by 4X4 high pass ability vehicle or you can continue to enjoy different routs. On the way to civilization you will go through Gometsari gorge and Chagmatusheti.
